CARDS even record with 41-3 win over South Florida
LOUISVILLE – September 24, 2022 – Cory Bosemer
The Cardinals were coming off a disappointing loss to the Seminoles of Florida State last week at home. So I guess you could say they had emotional ammunition to use in preparation for this game, against the Bulls of South Florida.
The CARDS came into the game favored to win by 14.5 pts, some out there questioned if the CARDS could cover. Well let’s just say right from the start, the men in red proved everybody wrong and more.
Malik Cunningham started the game off quickly early in the first, with a 10+ yard scamper to put the CARDS up 7-0. South Florida tried and tried in the first half to get going, but the CARD Nation & players wouldn’t let that happen.
Not long after Malik scored the first points, senior Jaelin Carter scored his first career touchdown as a C. Jaelin was apart of the crop of players Louisville got, via the transfer portal.
And after that Malik would score yet again on the ground. One of his passing touchdowns to Marshon Ford, got called back due to a flag on the play.
Malik would then again quickly gather himself as he would score for the 4th time in the first half.
The Bulls were held scoreless in the first, as the CARDS went into half time up 28-0.
In the second half, the CARDS would cruse and coast as they converted, two Field Goals and a td on the ground by Evans. Malik would end up getting pulled in the 2nd half, which is when lots of Cardinals that don’t get playing time did.
Cunningham finished todays game with four offensive scores, three on the ground and one in the air. Malik keeps on trucking away, as he gets closer and closer to records.
The prior CARDS to todays game were averaging 10 penalties a game, they improved on that with only having four this game. They bounced back big time this game avenging last weeks loss to Florida State.
Cards on the season now sit at 2-2 on the year with their two wins coming against schools from Florida. Next game they travle to take on the Eagles of Boston College.
