Texas came into the SEC Tournament on the wrong side of the bubble for the NCAA Tournament. After 2 big wins and a hard-fought game against Tennessee the latest bracket simulations have the Longhorns safely in the NCAA Tournament.

Tennessee was led in the first half by Chaz Lanier who was on fire, shooting 8-11 from the field and finishing the half with 19 points to help the Volunteers take a three-point lead into halftime. Tennessee led 41-38 at half.

This game was the only the second game so far that didn’t seem like the end was in question. While Texas came into the second half only down by three points it always felt like Tennessee was in control of the outcome of the game.

Half way through the 2nd half the Volunteers had stretched it out to a 15 point lead and under the leadership of senior leader Zakai Zeigler were able to hold the lead and walk away with the 83-72 victory.

Tennessee was led by Chaz Lanier who finished with 23 points. Texas was led by Kadin Shedrick who finished with 14 points and 6 rebounds.

Tennessee moves on to face the Auburn Tigers at 1:00 PM in the Semi-Final Round of the SEC Tournament.
