The Wildcats took the field today coming off back-to-back loses against South Carolina and Georgia. With a bowl game in question, a win against Ohio was much needed and the Wildcats played like it.Kentuckyheld Ohio scoreless through the first three quarters and looked much more aggressive on theoffensive side of the ball. The Wildcats appeared to have fixed several issues of the previous losses andcame away with a 41 to 6 victory.

After catching four passes for 109 yards in the first half Dane Key ended the game with a career high 7catches for 145 yards. It was the most impressive game for Brock Vandagriff so far as a Wildcat.Vandagriff ended the game completing 17 of 24 passes for 237 yards and looked more comfortable inthe pocket. Jamarion Wilcox was the best running back on the field today. He rushed for 82 yards withonly 8 attempts.

The defense, who has held their own in all the games so far, once again played a terrific game. Theydidn’t allow Ohioto score until the fourth quarter and forced two turnovers. Maxwell Hairston pickedup his third pick-six which ties the Kentucky record.

Speaking of Kentucky records, Kentucky kicker, Alex Raynor, broke the UK consecutive field goal recordwith 12 made field goals in a row. Which is no surprise after his performance against Georgia.

Even though Ohio isn’t a SEC caliber opponent, Kentucky did what they were expected to do anddominated the game. Had Ohio kept this game close there would be doubt of how well the season couldend. At least now we know that the Cats can perform well and will likely compete for a bowl game.
