Dillon Headed to the Playoffs with the Win.
RICHMOND, VA – August 16, 2025 – Anthony Holbrook
The NASCAR Cup series headed to the oval at Richmond Raceway as the push for the playoffs winds down for the for the Cook-Out 400.
This event was one of two races remaining for race teams to qualify for a Championship Playoff Voucher. NASCAR continued to allow race teams to utilize two different tire composure to promote competitive racing at Richmond. The right-side tire is the same used as last year’s ‘Option Tire’ while the left-side tire is softer compound of previous utilized tire at Richmond Raceway. Introduced at Martinsville Speedway last November, the Goodyear tire composure design anticipates increase grip and extend tire fall off during the race. The starting grid finds Ryan Preece and Tyler Reddick respectfully leading the annual event.
Cook-Out 400 – Stage 1 Recap:
An untimely decision to decline pit attention haunts Pole Sitter Preece as race teams dive into Pit Lane to attend Green Flag Pit Service on Lap 40.
Ryan Preece struggles to keep pace as serviced cars advanced.
Tyler Reddick punches past Preece to lead the Pack to Stage 1 honors.
Teammates Tyler Reddick and Bubba Wallace control the pace interchanging the post position through out the first segment of Stage 2.
Daniel Suarez gets checkuped’ in a lane squeeze counting 50 laps remaining in Stage 2. Tye Gibbs will be the recipient of a chrome horn sending him helplessly into an advancing Tyler Reddick as result.
With laps dwindling down, aggression increases as forestalled. Kyle Bush flirting with contention boosts Chase Brisco into turn 3 Safer Barrier Wall, transforming into a domino collision and customary Caution Flag with 10 laps to go.
Bubba Wallace pronounced his presence advancing to Checkers in the Final Stage 2 circuits at Richmond Raceway.

Austin Dillon rises to the occasion to battle Ryan Blaney to the lead with 70 laps of conclusion.
Race teams plan for a final Gren Flag stop to utilize an ‘Option Tire’ if available.
Both Dillon and Blaney pits from the lead respectfully for a final pit attention.
Austion Dillon keep invaders in his rear-view mirror, warding off any approaching danger for the final 50 laps to capture a Playoff Ticket at Richmond Raceway.
The Victory helps redeem Dillon’s ‘Controversial Win” at Richmond Raceway in 2025.
