FC Cincy Defeats Montreal

MONTREAL – September 14, 2019 – Richard Dale Pendleton – BSN

Cincinnati’s head coach Ron Jans was still looking for his first win as Cincinnati traveled to Montreal. Another match for Cincinnati and an 11 man starting line up that has not started a match together this year.

This seems to be the norm for Cincinnati and they are not getting any cohesion in starting line up and game play.

Cruz sets a new team record for Cincinnati with a score in 28 seconds. That goal ties Ledesma with the team league at 6 goals.

At half time Cincinnati 1 Montreal 0.

Cruz was played very physical by Montreal through out the match. Halfway into the second half, Cruz received a hit in the back of his head during a heading challenge. Cruz was taken out of the match for concussion protocol.

Mattocks was taken out of the match due to an injury and the rookie Dalley came into the match to sub for Mattocks. Kendall Watson was shown his second yellow card for the match. Kendall was sent off for a double yellow red card, he will miss the Atlanta match on Wednesday. Cincinnati was playing a man down for the rest of the match.

Ron Jans gets his first FC Cincinnati victory and a sweep over Montreal in the 2019 season.
