Larson sweeps the stages and race

BRISTOL – April 13, 2025 – Anthony Holbrook

The NASCAR Cup Series located to Bristol Motor Speedway, formerly known as Bristol International Raceway and Bristol Raceway, located in Bristol, Tennessee. Nestled in the heart of the Appalachia the distinctive short track is billed as the “World’s Fastest Half-Mile “was constructed in 1960 and hosted its first NASCAR race on July 30, 1961.  

Teammates Kyle Larson and Alex Bowman rolled the Food City 500’ gladiators to green from front row.  Heavy hearts umbrella the racing world as NASCAR paid tribute to one of their own, John Edwards.

Recap:

Kyle Larson awaited patiently to score a move on race leader Alex Bowman. Employing the top lane, Kyle Larson pocketed the lead by Lap 40.   Kyle Larson won Stage 1 in dominating fashion.

Recap:

Kyle Larson, dominating Stage 1, proclaims him as a top contender to victor in Thunder Valley. 

A Shane Van Gisbergen’ lane miscalculation invites a yellow flag and crucial pit decision for race teams with only 50 Laps in the 2nd Stage run.  Larson opts to decline pit service retaining track position.

Denny Hamlin advances to clash for the same trajectory held by Kyle Larson.  Kyle Larson will hold off a progressing Hamlin displaying persistent Stage authority. 

Kyle Larson wins Stage 2 in convincing fashion.

Recap:

Looking for a Broom, Kyle Larson sets the pace for the closing Stage as Alex Bowman and Denny Hamlin enter Larson’s rear mirror. 

Alex Bowman’s engine is smoking and will require immediate attention behind the wall on lap 330. 

Larson’s race team schedules a decisive green flag pit stop, 110 laps of completion. 

Kyle Larson rotates back to the front covering the post as teams dive for a final pit service.

Sweeping all Stages at Bristol Motor Speedway, Kyle Larson adds an additional iconic Gladiator’ Sword to Trophy case.

Adulations bestowed to John Edward’s as Kyle Larson dedicated this Victory to his departed friend.
