Aldrem Corredor’s three-run double in the third inning gave Hagerstown the early lead, and the Suns went on to a 6-5 victory over the Lexington Legends in front of 5,686 fans at Whitaker Bank Ballpark Saturday night.

Anderson Franco led off the third with a walk.  After Tres Barrera flied out, Telmito Augustin singled and Blake Perkins walked, loading the bases.  Corredor then lined a double into right field, scoring all three runners.

A two-run homer by Lexington’s Emmanuel Rivera in the bottom of the third cut the lead to one at 3-2.

Each team scored two runs in the fourth.  Doubles by Nick Banks and Barrera, and a single by Agustin gave the Suns a 5-2 margin, but the Legends answered with Joe Dudek’s two-run double in the bottom half.

Hagerstown added a run in the sixth on singles by Jake Noll, Franco and Agustin, but the Legends again cut the lead to one with a run in the bottom of the eighth on a single by Gabriel Cancel and a double by John Brontsema.

Dudek led off the bottom of the ninth with a double, but the Legends were unable to score.

Hagerstown starter McKenzie Mills (7-2) worked seven innings and got the win. He allowed six hits and four runs, but struck out nine batters and walked one.

Legends starter Garrett Davila (5-3) was the losing pitcher.

Each team has won one game in the series, which concludes Sunday with the final game of the first half of the South Atlantic League season.  First pitch is set for 2:05 p.m.  The Legends will take a 34-35 record into Sunday’s game.
