Owsley Falls to 0-3 in the District

Powell County defeated Owsley County in Stanton Friday 62-53 in an early season district game. The Pirates broke out to a 20-11 first quarter lead and increased it to 40-28 at the half. The Owls mounted a second quarter comeback to cut into the lead but were never able to overcome the Pirates. Owsley won the last quarter 14-8 but Powell won the first three quarters to build a cushion that they kept until the end.

Wes Cope and Keegan Herald led the Owls with each scoring 15 points. Jake McCoy scored 8, Dylan Gay 9, Chase Pryse 4, and Erick Craft 2. Pryse led the team in rebounds with 9 and Herald had 7.

Powell County was led by the duo of Jack Rose and Brayden Brandenburg with 16 and 14 points, respectively. Conner Morguson scored 9, Bryson Edwards 8 (14 rebounds), Aiden Larrison 6, Cameron Delrosario 5, and Dylan Williams 4.
