RICHMOND, Ky. – September 10, 2023
EKU Athletics announced new gameday enhancements for fans attending CG Bank Field at Roy Kidd Stadium during the 2023 football season on Sunday.
Thanks to EKU Information Technology, fans will enjoy upgraded Wi-Fi throughout the stadium. The video board has also undergone fiber improvements to advance the in-game experience.
Fans watching all five home games on ESPN+ will enjoy enhanced video content and camera angles that will also be utilized within the venue for fans in attendance. Fans at each home game will enjoy new concession stand Specials of the Game.
Each gate of entry will feature standardized bag checks as well as improved safety and security personnel management utilizing EMS communication systems across all security check points. Additionally, Roy Kidd Stadium now has new fencing and gates to fully secure the venue and ensure fan safety and security prior to home events.
CG Bank Field now features the United Athletic Conference logo as EKU participates in its first season in the conference.
Game-specific “Gameday” buttons will be available at all home games in limited quantities at the Colonel Courtyard and in the Kids’ Zone. A fire truck will also be in attendance at each home game.
The Colonel Courtyard will be in full swing for the third season and includes several activations and live music on select game days. The area opens three hours before kickoff. Fans are encouraged to visit the area for food trucks and a live pre-game radio broadcast beginning 90 minutes before kickoff. It will also be the home to various private events throughout the season, including the exclusive President’s Tailgate. The Colonel Courtyard will also include interactive inflatables for kids and families; and a different EKU athletics team interacting with fans each week. Different food trucks will be featured within the Colonel Courtyard and the tailgate lots this season. Marketing tables with giveaways and EKU Football posters will be stationed inside the Kids’ Zone and the Courtyard. The Kids’ Zone will also feature a painted mini football field.
