JACKSON – January 30, 2021 – BRENDON D. MILLER

The Bobcats were back at the Fairce O. Woods Coliseum for the first time since January 19th as they hosted the Cordia Lions on Saturday Night. Breathitt County put on an offensive display on the night by knocking down ten 3-pointers and continually slashing to the basket. Naz Welch gallantly tried to hold the Lions in the game with finishes at the bucket, but in the end the Bobcats pulled away for the 105-77 win.

The game was stramed LIVE on BSN Faebook and Youtube.

1st QUARTER
Jaylen Turner was the spark early for Breathitt as he drove in the lane for four buckets and nine in the period. Luke Bellamy hit a 3-pointer and was three of three from the line for six, and Austin Sperry and Bryce Hoskins each had a pair of baskets for four. Welch scored 11 of the Lions’ 18 in the quarter. End of 1st, Bobcats 18 – Lions 11.

2nd QUARTER
Breathitt put on a show in the second scoring 33 in the period. Caden Turner came off the bench for five buckets on the break for ten. Sperry had seven, Bellamy and Jaylen Turner each had six, and Andrew Combs four. Welch scored six and the Lions got two threes from Donavan Stidham and a three from Hunter Combs. 3rd QUARTER
Cordia made a run in the third as Welch added 10 of his game-high 30, and newcomer Jago Robinson put up nine. Jaylen Turner again led the Bobcats with five. Headed to the fourth, Breathitt’s lead was 16, 73 – 57.

4th QUARTER
Breathitt stemed the Cordia run in the fourth as Turner added four for his team-high 24, and Tyler Christy put in nine including two 3-pointers. The only question down the stretch was whether Breathitt would hit the century mark, which it did on 3-pointers by youngsters Jaxon Hamilton and Dillon Stacy with Stacy’s coming at the buzzer off glass!
