Brendon Miller

Brendon is the owner of BSN and serves as lead photographer and sports columnist and reporter. Brendon was a founding partner of BSN in 2016 and became the sole owner of BSN in October, 2018. Brendon is known for his photography of University of Kentucky football and basketball and local high school and youth sports in Eastern Kentucky for BSN and operates Brendon Miller Sports Photography.

Brendon lives in Jackson with his wife of 17 years Elizabeth and sons Evan Darrell (14) and Carson Everett (11).

Brendon is again the elected Breathitt County Attorney having won his 4th term in the position in November, 2018, and taking office in January, 2019.
Brendon practices law in Jackson, Kentucky as a solo practitioner, and has been the owner and operator of The Law Office of Brendon D. Miller, since establishment on October 18, 1996. Brendon is admitted to the Bar in Kentucky and the Federal Bar in the Eastern District of Kentucky.

Brendon has served three prior terms (twelve years from 2003 through 2014) as Breathitt County Attorney, winning three consecutive elections in 2003, 2007, and 2011. Prior to his election as Breathitt County Attorney, Brendon served as Assistant County Attorney in Breathitt (1999-2000), Lee (1998-2002), Owsley (1998-2002) and Estill Counties (2000-2002). Brendon was the contracting attorney for the Kentucky Division of Child Support in Breathitt County from 2000 through 2014. Brendon was selected by the Kentucky Attorney General’s Office as an instructor at the Kentucky Prosecutor’s Institute, a training course where trial techniques are taught to young prosecutors, in each of the years of 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, and 2011. Brendon was a presenter at the Protecting Lives Saving Futures Conference on DUI prosecution in 2008, and a speaker at the Kentucky Prosecutor’s Conference in both 2008 and 2009.

Brendon is also,the President, principal owner and operator of Sugar Camp Golf Club located in Jackson. Brendon designed and built the Golf Club in 2004 on his farm in Breathitt County, and opened same for play in August, 2005. Brendon was Club Champion after winning the overall Club Championship in October, 2014.

Brendon is a 1996 Cum laude Graduate of Salmon P. Chase College of Law. Brendon graduated as a member of the Top Ten percent of his class. Brendon is also a 1992 Cum laude Graduate of Union College in Barbourville, Kentucky, with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with minors in Economics and Marketing. Brendon is a 1988 Graduate of Breathitt County High School, in Jackson, Kentucky. Brendon was member of the National Honor Society.

Athletically, Brendon was a four year letterman for the Union College Football Team and was named First-Team NAIA All-American, in 1991 as a punter for the Union College Football team, and was the National Leader in Punting Average in NAIA Division II, in 1991. Brendon was named First-Team All Mid-South Conference and All NAIA District 32 in each 1990 and 1991 and Mid-South Academic All-Conference and NAIA District Scholar Athlete in each 1989, 1990, and 1991. Brendon was named First-Team All Mid-South Football Conference and All NAIA District 32 in 1991 as both Punter and Kicker, being All-Conference and All-District on both Offense and Defense. Brendon was voted at the Special Teams Player of the Year in each 1990 and 1991, for the Union College Football team. Brendon kicked game winning field goals in back to back weeks as time expired in 1991 against Lambuth University on September 21, 1991 (final score 24 to 23), and Evansville University on September 28, 1991 (final score 16 to 14). Brendon still owns the record for longest punt at Union with a 73 yard boot against Georgetown on October 19, 1991. Brendon lettered in both 1989 and 1990 as a pitcher with the Union College Baseball Team.

Brendon was inducted into the Union College Athletic Hall of Fame in 2018.

Brendon was a three year letter man with the Breathitt County Football Team being named All-State Honorable Mention and All-District as a punter/kicker in 1987. Brendon kicked a game winning field goal in overtime to defeat Hazard High School 3 to 0 on September 25, 1987. Brendon averaged 38.9 yards per punt for his career with 10 field goals (longest 37 yards) and converted 63 extra points.

Brendon was a four year letterman with the Breathitt County Baseball Team being named All-District in 1987 and 1988. Brendon was named the Most Valuable Player and Most Valuable Pitcher with an 8-0 record, and won the RBI award, for his performance in his senior season in 1988, and graduated as a career leader in home runs and co-leader in RBI’s at that time.
